Privacy Policy

We built HarvestMath to be a small, honest, useful site. That goes for privacy too. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, what we don’t, and how to get rid of anything we have on you.

What we collect

Not much. Two things, and only when you choose to share them:

• Your email address — only when you voluntarily type it into the newsletter or lead magnet signup form. We use it to send the resource you asked for and the occasional related email. That’s it.
• Anonymous traffic data — things like which pages were visited, roughly where the visitor came from, and general device type (phone vs. desktop, browser family). No name, no email, no exact location, no search history.

What we do not collect

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into the mulch calculator, soil calculator, spacing calculator, and every other tool never leave your device. They are not sent to our server, not stored in a database, not logged, not looked at by anyone. Close the tab and they’re gone. We couldn’t read your garden inputs even if we wanted to — we don’t build that kind of system because we don’t want that kind of responsibility.

How we use your email

When you sign up for the newsletter or a lead magnet, we use your email to:

• Send the resource you requested.
• Send occasional related emails — new calculators, seasonal gardening tips, and updates to the site. One email a month, sometimes less.

We never sell, rent, or share your email with third parties. We don’t buy email lists. We don’t run ads that follow you around the internet based on your email. If we ever partner with a sponsor for a specific email, we’ll make that explicit and you’ll be able to opt out before it goes out.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for anonymous traffic analytics. GA4 gives us aggregate numbers — which pages and calculators get used, general location (country or city level, not a precise address), and general device information (phone vs. desktop, browser family) — so we know what’s useful and what needs work. It doesn’t collect your name, your email (unless you separately give it to us through a signup form), or anything you type into a calculator. We can’t identify you as an individual from it.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for analytics only — GA4 sets first-party cookies to distinguish one visit from another. We don’t run ads, so there are no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels, and no remarketing tags. If you block cookies in your browser, the site works exactly the same — you’ll just be invisible to our analytics, which is fine by us.

Unsubscribing and deleting your data

Two things you can do at any time, no questions asked:

• Unsubscribe from emails. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you’re off the list immediately.
• Request that we delete your email. If you want us to remove your email address from our system entirely, contact us and we’ll delete it within 30 days. You don’t need to give a reason.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material about how we handle data, we’ll update this page and bump the “last updated” date at the top. We won’t make a change quietly and hope nobody notices.
